The Central Accounting Unit Customer Survey 2000
The Results
This document was created in July 2001
Introduction
The Central Accounting Unit (CAU) has for some time recognised the importance of providing the most efficient service to its users within the constraints of legislative and budgetary controls.
This has been evidenced by the first Customer Survey carried out in 1993, the open invitation for users to visit the Unit and the formation of the successful CAU User Group in 1997.
In order to establish from a wide range of insolvency practitioners and their staff how successful the Unit is in meeting the needs of users and identifying what can be improved and what additional services are required, a second survey was undertaken during 2000.
The questionnaire received ministerial approval and 337 were sent to a representative sample of insolvency practitioners administering differing levels of insolvent estates.
152 questionnaires were returned with a response rate of 45%, a good response for a survey of this type. I would personally like to thank all the insolvency practitioners and their staff for taking time out to complete the questionnaires and for the useful comments made.
The results of the survey have now been collated and are included in this report. The report deals with the results in the same order as the questionnaire using charts and graphs with a narrative summary including any comments made by the respondents.
An action plan to deal with the areas identified by the survey is attached at annex 2 to this report.
The report can also be found on the Insolvency Service website @ www.insolvency.gov.uk in the Information site under insolvency practitioner Information.
