Where the query relates to a specific case, central index must be checked to find out who is dealing with the case, and the query should be referred according to its case status as follows :
Open (No IP appointed)
Call to be dealt with by the relevant ORs office, PIU or RTLU
IP appointed
Call to be referred to the relevant IP
OR/IP released or Closed
Call to be dealt with by the relevant ORs office, PIU or RTLU. Calls for cases that were dealt with by the Protracted Realisations Unit should be routed through 0121 698 4137/4147.

IP Rota
Each ORs office holds is own IP rota. A copy of the London IP rota can be obtained from Bloomsbury switchboard. Alternatively, IP Section (contacts as per the IEL reference guide) will provide a list of IPs in a particular area (they just use the IP database on the intranet and use the area as the search criteria). Additionally, local libraries should have a copy of the IP directory. Lastly, the Insolvency Service website at www.insolvency.gov.uk has a searchable insolvency practitioners (IP) database, and one of the search criteria is an area.
